The MBBS program in India is one of the most prestigious and preferred courses among students. About fifteen lakh aspirants, annually, compete with one another to obtain a seat for themselves in a reputed medical college approved by NMC as the number of seats is limited (about 80,000 seats).
The MBBS courses offered by Indian Medical colleges are recognized by the MCI (Medical Council of India) and approved by the UGC (University Grants Commission).
MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) is a professional undergraduate degree program that trains students to become qualified doctors. It's a demanding but rewarding course that equips you with the knowledge and skills to diagnose, treat, and prevent a wide range of medical conditions.
For Study MBBS in India, the candidate must be a minimum of 17 years of age and not above 25 years at the time of admission. The general category medical candidate needs to score 50% marks in 12th grade, whereas the reserved category candidates must achieve a minimum of 40%. For AIIMS, the percentage is 60% for the general category and 45% for SC/ST and OBC. A medical candidate must have Physics, Chemistry and Biology as the primary subjects in 12th grade. NEET qualification with the required scores. is mandatory. Other entrance exams for which a medical candidate can appear include JIPMER or AIIMS entrance tests, Kerala CEE, Karnataka CET, etc.
Course Duration-5.5 year program
Application period:June and July.
(4.5 years of classroom study plus 1 year mandatory internship).
